Making
Homes Communities Health Opportunity

Come True

Homes for America serves as a beacon of hope by providing quality affordable housing to catalyze thriving communities.

We have made it our mission to build and preserve affordable housing across the mid-Atlantic region since our founding in 1994. We believe that a home is more than just a place to lay your head. It’s the cornerstone upon which lives are built, dreams are realized, and communities flourish.

Since our inception, we’ve proudly built over eighty rental communities, totaling over 6,700 homes across Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Delaware.

Our work has earned us over 50 national, state, regional, and local awards for excellence, a testament to the quality and innovation we bring to every project.

At Homes for America, we’re more than developers—we’re creators of possibilities, builders of dreams, and champions of thriving communities. Join us in our journey to provide a foundation for a better, more inclusive future.

Who We Serve

Our mission is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves a safe, quality home. We understand that stable housing is not just about shelter; it’s the bedrock of physical and mental well-being, educational success, financial stability, and economic empowerment.

The United States is in the midst of a worsening affordable housing crisis. Millions of Americans struggle to find decent housing at a rent they can afford including seniors, essential workers, families, and persons with disabilities. There’s a staggering shortage of 7.3 million homes available to renters with extremely low incomes. We operate in urban, suburban, and rural areas because the need for affordable housing exists everywhere. We seek partnerships and opportunities where we can leverage our expertise in various financing tools and development models.

Resident success is the cornerstone of our efforts. It’s not just about providing affordable housing; it’s about enabling access to essential services—healthcare, education, transportation, digital resources, and social engagements—that enrich lives and foster economic mobility. We believe in cultivating a sense of community where residents’ voices are heard and valued in decision-making processes.
